Fortune Cookie
Every Friday night, Marcus’s family would order takeout food. They took turns picking a local restaurant. This Friday, it was his little sister Kara’s turn to pick. She chose the nearby Chinese restaurant. Marcus ordered chicken balls with rice.
When Marcus finished eating the last of the rice on his plate, he stood up to bring his empty plate to the counter by the sink.
“Hey, don’t forget about the fortune cookies, Marcus!” his mother said.
“Oh yeah,” thought Marcus—the fortune cookies. The fortunes were always so lame. Most of the time they didn’t even make sense. But his family always made a big deal out of them.
Kara went first. She read it silently and laughed. Then she read it aloud: “Mine says, You will live long enough to open many more fortune cookies.”
Everyone laughed except Marcus.
“I’ll go next,” said his mom excitedly. “You will be hungry again in one hour.” This time Marcus couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You will be a superstar karaoke singer,” his dad screamed out. “They know me too well!” he giggled.
Marcus cracked open his cookie and pulled out the little slip of paper. He read it silently. “Marcus, do not read this out loud. Tomorrow, go to the backyard. Take three large steps past the juneberry tree and then one step to the right. Dig a hole 2 metres deep. Don’t tell anyone about this.”
“What does it say, Marcus?” Kara asked.
“Oh, um, it says, “Good things come to those who wait,” He lied.
The next day was Saturday. Marcus woke up at 7 a.m. while everyone was still sleeping. He went to the garage, grabbed a shovel, and headed to the backyard…
Story Endings
he started digging. It was very tiring work. When he had dug just one foot into the ground, the ground opened up and he fell in. Inside was an underground chamber that had been forgotten long ago! Now he loved fortune cookies!
He grunted then dug a hole. When he finished, he whipped the sweet of his brough and he stepped back . then he reached back for a metre stick and it happened to be two metres.
He then took 3 large steps from the juneberry tree and turned right. Marcus started digging and a few moments later, he found a fortune cookie on the ground. He opened it and it said: « Ha! I see you’ve gotten this far and now I will tell you that… THIS WAS A JOKE.🥠
As he dug the hole he felt something hard it was a box with lots of money and gold he was excited and at the same time thought it was a dream.When his parents and sister woke up he told them and showed them the box.From that day on his family was rich and lived happily ever after
He goes to where he is supposed to go and finds his fortune on the spot. He reads and flips it to the back to find another fortune. Go back to sleep and an elephant will grant you 4 wishes at 9:00.
Because kids can eat their cookies during snack time and they would have an interesting
when he got there he did exactly what the slip of paper from the fortune cookie told him to do. but it got confusinger and confusinger as he went on. because when he dug a whole 2 meters deep all he found was water. then he realized that it dident specifie what juneberry tree to go to. they had 10 of them so he had to do all of them! and all 9 of them had water in the holes that he dug. then when he was digging the final inches for the very last hole he heard a very faint cracking sound then he found out it was comming from the hole so he dug the rest of the way with his hands and then he saw… A FORTUNE COOKIE!!! and the first thing that popped into his mind was… I DID ALL THIS WORK AND DIGGING JUST TO FIND A FORTUNE COOKIE!!!!!!!!! but he thought might as well just open it to see what it is. and then on the piece of paper he read… marcus! you found it! this was a test to see if you would keep on doing the work and you did so markus learned to never second guess a fortune cookie
he went where he was told to and he was shoct…he fond a long living UNICORN!!!!!!!!:D.he was so lucky he got all the girls.
and did exactly what the paper said.Then,he looked into the hole and saw nothing.Marcus stared into the hole and saw a glimmer.He looked closer and saw a shining object.Marcus picked it up and saw that it was a beautiful ruby.Later that morning,Marcus was about to ask his mom how much it was worth.But instead. he decided to take it back outside and bury it in a place at the park.So, that day Marcus’s family went to the park and Marcus buried it and drew an x on the place he buried it hoping to have somebody else who needed it more than him to find it.The End :)
I think that when he digs the hole,he will find nothing but a piece of garbage.poor him!
then he read his fortune in his head then after that he dug the hole, got out, then after that he told his sister the truth but whispering. the Kara said, “Oh Mark is that what the fortune said?” Mark said”yes sis” that is what the fortune said” Mark said don’t tell mom or dad ok” Kara said ok mark I would not tell mom or dad. Mark said” good Kara because it is a secret.” then they did not tell there parents about the fortune he received. The End.
I think he did what the fortune said and when he digged the hole two metres deep he found a treasure chest with lots of golden coins in it.
and did the stuff. he dug and found gold. he soon became rich. but after that they figure out that its fools gold!!!!!! so he got sued from companies that bought it for $ 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 for 1 pound of gold.
he did what the fortune cookie told him to, when he was finished digging the hole. He found a lot of stuff that were green and reached for them but fell in. He picked them up and found out that it was money ( a lot of money). he screamed help but no one heard him. the moment his family they were trying to find him all of a sudden they heard a loud cry for help, they went to the backyard to see a hole they looked in it and saw Marcus. they helped him out and asked him what happened and he told them the story. why didn’t you tell the truth? asked his mother. i don’t know. he said. next time please tell us the truth. said his dad. okay said Marcus. they went inside and Marcus showed them what he found, and they lived happily, richly ever after.
He dug a hole and found 1000 million dollars then he went back to bed and when his parents woke up he told them about the money and the fortune cookie and he lives happily ever after with his 1000 million dollars the end
Marcus started to dig. “Geez finally some company. So, do you believe in fortune cookies then?” A guy about his dad’s age climbed out of the hole. Marcus slowly backed away, then said “well, not usually, most of them are pretty boring. N-not yours of course” Marcus stuttered. The guy chuckled. “YOU JUST GOT PRANKED!!!” His sister and mom jumped up behind him, and his dad took of his wig. “You guys are all crazy.” Marcus announced, marching back to his house. The End.
Taking his shovel outside, he dug a hole 2 metre deep.In the hole,there was a chest with a rusty lock. The chest wasn’t very heavy. Marcus easily took the chest out of the 2 metre deep hole. Opening the chest with exciting thoughts, Marcus cracked the lock. In the chest there were no money or treasure, there were thousands and thousands of fortune cookies. Kara came hearing the sound and started laughing. “Marcus, I thought you hated fortune cookies but clearly I was wrong”. Marcus was embarrassed of his crazy fortune of fortune cookies. THE END.
