Fortune Cookie
Every Friday night, Marcus’s family would order takeout food. They took turns picking a local restaurant. This Friday, it was his little sister Kara’s turn to pick. She chose the nearby Chinese restaurant. Marcus ordered chicken balls with rice.
When Marcus finished eating the last of the rice on his plate, he stood up to bring his empty plate to the counter by the sink.
“Hey, don’t forget about the fortune cookies, Marcus!” his mother said.
“Oh yeah,” thought Marcus—the fortune cookies. The fortunes were always so lame. Most of the time they didn’t even make sense. But his family always made a big deal out of them.
Kara went first. She read it silently and laughed. Then she read it aloud: “Mine says, You will live long enough to open many more fortune cookies.”
Everyone laughed except Marcus.
“I’ll go next,” said his mom excitedly. “You will be hungry again in one hour.” This time Marcus couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You will be a superstar karaoke singer,” his dad screamed out. “They know me too well!” he giggled.
Marcus cracked open his cookie and pulled out the little slip of paper. He read it silently. “Marcus, do not read this out loud. Tomorrow, go to the backyard. Take three large steps past the juneberry tree and then one step to the right. Dig a hole 2 metres deep. Don’t tell anyone about this.”
“What does it say, Marcus?” Kara asked.
“Oh, um, it says, “Good things come to those who wait,” He lied.
The next day was Saturday. Marcus woke up at 7 a.m. while everyone was still sleeping. He went to the garage, grabbed a shovel, and headed to the backyard…

He took 3 large steps past the juneberry tree and stepped 1 to the right and dug a hole 2 meters long.All of a sudden a giant fortune cookie tree grew!A voice said “Read your fortune cookies.” Marcus did so and he always got awsome fotunes that came to life!

When he was done diging he saw water rising from in the hole then a child came out of the hole the one that Marcus had digged recently , and told Marcus that he was adopted and that he must return to his right family who where in trouble the child then said that Marcus must be there before it was too late and everyone and everything on earth would be gone …
he forgot the instructions when he went there because he lost his fortune/advice he still went though and he dug the whole backyard one meter deep which got him grounded his fortune cookie should have said i see you in a room for 1 week
He did as he was told and started digging when it was to meters deep he found a old,brown box locked, there was also a note “dig another hole but 5cm right and a step left again dig gin sitting the box by the tree he continued to dig until, bam!! He hit a little piece of wood in a box, but it was blue the wood was carved and said “ go 3steps back and dig 39cm”he did and so one note after the other,the whole time feeling eyes watching him finally the last whole was 3meters deep and a key in a bright yellow box. As he had hoped he found a key opened the box……pop!!!a jack in the box with a note that said “ tricked you” laughter from behind, his little sister…should have known
he dug two meters deep and saw a sports like decorated paper . he took it out of the ground and it said you have discoverd an amazing discover only someone who had awesome always wining sports powers .wow said marcis i love playing socer maybe thats why whatever team im on we alywas win the champeons.the end

Marcus’s whole family loved to sleep in on Saturdays so they where all asleep once he snuck out into the backyard. That also ment that they wouldn’t be able to see or hear him! After 2 hours of digging nothing showed up. Marcus was super tired and wanted to give up. But right as he put his shovel back into the shed his sister came out. “What are you doing Marcus?” Said his sister. “I’m…uh…hmm…digging a hole to burry my um……dinner from last night!” Exclaimed Marcus. “Of course you are! ;) I read your fortune cookie last night. I wanted to come and help you but mom told me to go back to bed….but I’m here now! Let’s find that buried treasure!” She cried. Marcus retrieved the shovel and the two siblings worked together to find whatever was in the ground. After 20minuts of hard works the found a box. “I wonder what’s inside!!” They both wondered. Marcus opened the box and found a little peice of paper. “FREE CHINESE FOOD FOR LIFE!!!!!” They both shouted.
Right under a tree and started digging a fortune cookie that said you will magic powers he thought in wasn’t real but it was he got angry and he saw the powers.The End
Marcus dug and dug and dug until he found a lost artifact but he never knew that it was magic and it gave him magic powers till he grew up. Then he told his children and they had magic powers too for the whole generation but no one knows what happened to that family. THE END!

He did exactly what he was told and when his hole was about two meters deep his shovel hit a wooden chest with a golden lock. He opened the chest and inside was about twenty resteront coupons!
And did what the fortune cookie had said. Boom! When Marcus had finished digging the hole, a live fortune cookie sat in the hole.
