Turn the Dial
You will never believe what happened to me last week.
I was visiting my friend at her house and we decided to go into the attic to see if we could find anything interesting.
“Whoa, that’s a really old TV,” I laugh. “I’ve never seen one so bulky.”
“I know,” my friend replies. “I have no idea why my parents are keeping that thing. I don’t even think it works.”
“Should we try it?” I suggest. “There’s an outlet for a plug right there.”
My friend plugs in the television.
“How do we turn it on?” I ask.
“I think you have to turn that big dial,” she says, pointing to a knob beside the screen.
I reach over and take hold of the dial and turn it one click to the right.
We could not believe what happened next…
Story Endings
And the tv flickered on! It had just an old creepy movie on. « Come on, let’s watch it at least. » said my friend. She loves scary movies. « I don’t know. Our parents would ground us. » I said, reaching to turn it off. When I tried to, it wouldn’t. I looked to my friend and she said « Just watch it! » I didn’t like it. So I left the attic and went to pack up my stuff. When I came back to say bye, my friend was gone. I looked everywhere and called for her. Nothing. Then I found a knife stuck in the wall. It had a red substance on it. I screamed. Then my friend shot up laughing. « Hahahaha! Got you! » I was so angry. « You scared me! It’s not funny. » I was so angry. « Calm down. » she laughed. « It’s not funny. » I said through gritted teeth. « I am leaving. Goodbye. » « Why didn’t you watch the movie? Is it because you’re a scaredy cat? » she teased. « I am not! » I stomped out before I grabbed that knife and… you know… anyway I left her house and never came back because after that.
We were teleported to a weird place with a smell of ash. We where in the prehistoric times!!! Suddenly ice cream fell from the tree onto my head yum! Oh maybe not. Cause a deadly T REX IS HEADED OUR WAY!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! we scream as we run for our lives. Thankfully, a boy, apparently the dinosaurs owner, calls him off. He asks if we are from around here. “ No we are not and i’m freaking out because we almost got eaten by a DINO!!!!!!!!!!” Ella answers before i have the chance to. “ Soooo, no i guess?” he replies calmly. Before Ella opens her mouth i tell him the hole story. He looks surprised but he believes us. “Hopefully we can get back home” i say and soon i was right. Me and Ella explode into tiny pieces. “ Bye! “ we yell as we disappear. Finally we are back at home. “ WOW! “ that was fun i say but Ella is already in the kitchen.

NOTHING! the tv didn’t even flinch! We were bummed that the tv didn’t work. But then, something strange happened. My friend opened her mouth to talk, but all that came out of her mouth was an old weather forecast. bewildered, I tried to ask her what happened, but instead, what came out was some old baseball match. oh no! I realized. This wasn’t an attic, it was a science lab! And the dial was a switch places knob! I don’t think I have to tell you what happened next….but let’s just say my teacher was surprised to find a bulky talkative tv instead of me the next day.
the tv started to whir and flicker,and then a sylveon jumped right out of the screen! It squeaked and tried to jump out the attic but I would not let it. I threw my ultra ball and I caught it! Then I let it out so that I could carry it home.
Nothing happened. I felt fishy. I went outside and you will never guess what I saw….. EYES! The television had eyes! But thankfully, it didn’t have a mouth or a nose. It had 2 mouths and 2 noses! I was horrified! But, thankfully, my friend’s parents weren’t in the house. My friend’s dad was at work and her mom went to shop. I suddenly the doorbell rang. My friend and I opened it. Is was her parents. “ What happened to the house?”, her mom said. then we explained the whole story. By then, my dad came to pick me up. My friend’s parents explained the whole story to my dad. I said, bye to my friend. My dad looked disapointed. When we got to our house, he told my mom the whole story, and I was grounded for 5 weeks.

The attic turned into a campsite! We saw a tent, 2 picnic tables , and 3 big chairs. We could see a lot of nature in the campsite. We came down from the attic. We saw my parents staring at us. We told them what happened , and then we showed them the magic campsite. They were baffled to see the campsite. We friends decided that this would be our secret , magical fort. When we ate, we used the picnic tables and the chairs. we slept and read books in the tents. It was so much fun!
As I turned the dial, a we heard a quiet whirring sound. The dial grew hotter and hotter, until I had to let go. The whirring sound grew louder, and then the TV started to shake! My friend and I backed away. “Um…” My friend began, her eyes fixed on the screen of the television, “Is this supposed to happen?” “I dunno,” I responded, “Maybe it’s broken?” And then, while we watched in horror, the black cables of the TV began to hiss and spark! The TV was shaking like crazy now, rattling on its stumpy legs, and it was still letting out the whirring, whining sound, which was rising to an earsplitting pitch. My friend and I covered our ears and ducked down, backing away from the sparks flying everywhere. I closed my eyes, and then… The whirring noise stopped. Instead, the sound of tinny voices was coming out of the television. I opened my eyes, and a black and white film was playing on the small screen of the TV! And that’s how we learned how old TV’s worked. :)
The entire room turns into the leaning tower of Pisa. For some reason I felt uncomfortable. I said I wanted to be in the future. So the Leaning Tower of Pisa turned into the future. But not the way I imagined. The air was so fresh, and the houses were made out of hills, and get this. There was no electricity lines! Everyone was playing outside. I asked someone where I was but they said wake up! Apparently it was all a dream, and my mom was telling me to wake up. “Hey honey! Want to go to your friends house again? They have a new antique TV! Guess what? If you Turn the dial it can bring you anywhere you want to go!” Guess it wasn’t all a dream!
We were in a new world in the forest with scary wolves! The wolves were growling close to me and then they ate me all up, but spit me out at the very last moment. I ran back to the TV and turned the dial back. BOOM! I lived happily ever after with my strong dad and super-strength mom.
Everywhere besides my friend and the TV began getting fuzzy. The walls looked like TV static, and the atmosphere was blurry. “What’s going on!” My friend yelps, falling over on her bottom. I stop turning the dial, and fall back unto the floor which now feels like cotton. In a blink, we were transported to an odd place in time. We didn’t know where, we didn’t know how but we were then in Washington, D.C. Looking around us, the setting looked like.. a theatre. Everyone around us was dressed in formal attire, some were up high viewing the stage from above. I loved history with a passion, and I often studied popular events. I froze, darting my eyes around the huge theatre. “There!” I shouted, motioning to a man in the audience. “Let’s go!” The theatre went dark, and me and my friend were running up to a man in a dark suit, laughing with a few other people watching the play. “Abraham Lincoln,” I gasp. he turns to stare. “You need to leave now, or you’ll get shot!”
The ancient TV turned on. But it didn’t just play any old thing. It showed our Grandparents! They were talking about something, and then we realized that they were talking to us! I turned to my friend wondering what to do but then there was a power outage. But instead of the TV going off in sucked us in! We figured out over the next couple of weeks that our grandparents had been friends when they were our age . Then many tears later after we had a nice family we moved back up to that attic and went inside the TV for the next generation to find. THE END.
We went into the tv and got a magic remote. Then we switched channels and had a blast. Turned the tv off to get out and it worked!
it works but instead of shows it only shows animal pictures that’s weird I say let’s click that dog whoa, there are multiple breeds of dogs let’s click the lab. then the TV screen starts to swirl, and a lab jumps out! wow, this Tv is magic my friend says, hey I say we could help re-generate a ton of species like dinos! no not dinos I say, but other rinos there are only like 5 kinds left, so they re-generated so many animals and sold dogs and cats and other pets they became rich and had a couple of dogs there self’s and there were as many species as before and they lived happily ever after THE END
… the next thing we knew we had been sucked into the old TV! I looked around and all that was around us was walkways to different shows and movies! “What happens if we walk into one of the shows or movies?” I asked. “I’m not sure”, my friend said. We rushed into Sleeping Beauty and then all of a sudden we were interacting with the characters! We were amazed! Then, we went from show, to movie, to show, to movie until we went in all of them! Then, I said, “We need to GET OUT OF THIS TV”, and then, we were out of the TV. We looked at each other and ran down to the TV room to play the movie, Sleeping Beauty, when I realized that it had only been 2 minutes since we went into the TV. It felt like 1 year! I ignored it and we sat to watch Sleeping Beauty. My friend and I were now permanintley made into the film! From that day forward, my friend and I were always careful with the stuff in her attic, and we went on A TON more adventures! THE END
“What?” says my friend. “I guess it’s too old to work. Let’s go back outside.” We walk downstairs and out the door onto the porch. “Wait whaaat?” I think. “Where did the ground go?” i ask my friend, who is peering over the railing.
“I think something happend when you turned that tv knob.” says my friend. “Lets go look at it again.” I agree, and we race back to the attic.
My friend picks up the TV and shakes it around. Nothing rattles inside. He flips it around backwards. “Look at that!” I say, pointing at the back of the tv. “It says: Warning! Do not turn knobs unless you are a goat.” I turn the knob again, thinking it will put us back on the ground. nothing happened.
My friend looks at me confused. “Ummm…” he started to say. “Look in this mirror over there…” I walk to the mirror to look. I gasp. I turned into a goat! I look in the mirror again, and see that my friend is also a goat!
