I am Narool, an Arboreutaur (ar-BOR-a-tar). Arboreutaur’s are creatures that look like humans. Sort of. They have swirly fur that can be a combination of greens blues and browns. They have long squirrel-ish ears, and a cats retractable claws. And of course, long bushy tails.

We guard, protect and sleep in the forest’s trees. But I’ve been having trouble staying on my branch. I just slip off. So I usually sleep on the ground, angry at my lack of balance.

One night, I was sleeping on the ground, when searing heat woke me up. Lightning had struck a tree nearby, setting it aflame. I dashed to get water from a stream close by, waking up my family on the way. They ran to help me. We all worked together to put it out in a furry.

Afterwards my parents came to my and hugged me for a long time. If I hadn’t been on the ground, hadn’t felt the heat and woken up, the fire would have spread.
