Billy Burtle Turns into a Turtle
Billy Burtle was on a class trip to the zoo. The entire class was in the reptile exhibit checking out the snakes, lizards, and turtles.
“I dare you to touch its shell,” Julia McDonald said, pointing at a small, motionless turtle.
“Ha! Ok,” Billy laughed, ignoring the signs throughout the zoo that warned people to never touch the animals. Billy stood on his tippy toes and reached over the glass and into the turtle enclosure. Just as Billy was about the touch the shell, the turtle turned its head and bit Billy on his index finger.
“Ouch!” shouted Billy, as he shook his whole hand in pain. “It bit me!”
Julia laughed. “Come on, let’s go,” she said, as the rest of the class walked to the next exhibit in the zoo.
“Hurry up, Billy!” Julia shouted. “Why are you walking so slowly?”

Soon his legs and arms grew short and he grew a shell. When his face emerged from the shell it looked like a turtles face. He could barley recognize himself. ‘Look’ said a classmate a turtle got out. The teacher swiftly picked him up as he pleadingly wiggled. Then surprisingly he could still talk.’Please stop I am Billy’ he screamed. Whoa said his classmates he can talk. Nobody believed him. We should call a professional vet. When the vet came over he confirmed that he was a normal turtle except could talk. Finally the zoo decided to sell him to a circus where he lived for the rest of his life.
Suddenly there is a bright light. Instead of Billy, there was a turtle in his place.The turtle was as big as a small car. One person in his class knew a lot about dinosaurs and other prehistoric reptiles. He yelled out, “It’s an archelon!” Another person in his class asked, “What happened to Billy?” His teacher, Mrs. Pine, counted everyone. “We lost Billy!” she said. They searched all over the zoo but they still couldn’t find Billy. The zookeeper’s mouth dropped open when he saw the giant turtle. The turtle grunted. The zookeeper tried to move the turtle into the turtle cage but failed. The turtle was too heavy. He got a crane to try and get the turtle in the cage. The turtle landed in the cage but the crane broke. The archelon ate all the fish and was still hungry. He saw the pail of fish sitting outside the cage. He banged on the glass window and the glass broke. He crawled to the fish. When he ate his first fish, he turned back into Billy again.

“I-I don’t know” Billy said. As he and Julie went up on the bus, his feet turned into flat turtle-like paws. “What the-“ Julie shrieked, Billy turned into a turtle! He tried to ask for help, but all he could pull out was a few whines. “HELP! BILLY TURNED INTO A TURTLE!” Julie yelped. The teacher came to help and didn’t believe Julie and took Billy the turtle back to the zookeeper. The zookeeper put him down in the turtle cage. “That’s what you get for trying to touch my shell human” Said a voice. Billy was too afraid to answer. Then, out of nowhere, a turtle popped up. “My name is duke, the turtle who bit you.” “C’mon, let me take you around to show you about a turtle’s life”.

The next morning when he looked in the mirror, he was green all over! I can’t believe it, he said!
Then he ran downstairs to tell his mom and dad.
I can’t believe it too! said his Dad. Me neither! you are so green! Said his mom.
Then he turns back into himself. and everyone is happy.

Julia turned around,” Are you OK?” She asked. But when she turned around she didn’t see anything except a small turtle. As soon as she saw the small turtle, she realized what had happened to Billy. Even though she knew the turtle was Billy, and that it was so small, she was so terrified of reptiles that she screamed. But nobody heard her because the zoo exhibit was empty and her classmates had gone ahead. So she put Billy in her pocket and ran to catch up with them. When she got home, she said “Mom, look! There was a sheet of questions, which I answered all right! So I got this pet turtle, which I will name Billy!” Then she kept him for the rest of his life.

Soon after Billy was a turtle! Julia screamed AAAAAAAAA! BILLYS A TURTLE! The whole class screamed.The teacher called 911 it took a hour to get to the zoo.They took the “turtle” in the ambulance.The doctors never had a turtle before. So it ended up that billy became a turtle for the rest of his life.
“I don’t know!” Said Billy slowly. “AHHHHHHHH”!!!!!! Screamed Julia. “YOU ARE TURNING GREEN”! “Uh oh” said Billy in that strange slow voice. But they had to keep moving. A few minutes later Billy was fully a turtle and he was extremely scared. When they got back from the zoo, Billy went to turtle school for turtles who didn’t know how to be turtles. Billy learned how to be a very good turtle and he lived happily ever after. THE END!!!!!!!!!
Billy felt cautious. He suddenly fainted.He woke and was in a cage. Then he heard his parents . He tried to talk but he heard a ‘’ Heeeeeeeh’’. He knew it he had been bitten by a poisionus turtle because he had turned into a turtle. Because Im pretending to be a turtle. Thats why Im going so slow. and my finger really hurts. I wish I didnt put my hand in the enclosure. I cant go any faster. Ms. Marley Ms. Marley I cant go any faster. Ok we better go to the office when we get to school and get you a bandaid. The end.
She turns around and sees a turtle following her. She runs away screaming help a turtle has escaped.
He was just in bed! When he got out of bed he said to himself what a terrible dream.
Because he is a turtle now. If Billy’s last name, Burtle rhymes with turtle he
always is going to be a turtle when he goes to the zoo.
