The Haunted House
Chris and Omar were playing basketball at the playground one Saturday afternoon. Chris was winning by a score of 9 to 2—with just one more basket to win.
Chris had the ball and decided to show off a bit. He dribbled, crossing the ball over from his left hand to his right. Omar defended, trying to keep himself between Chris and the basket. Chris brought the ball above his head and tried a hook shot—a ridiculous attempt considering he was about 20 feet from the basket!
The ball soared completely over the backboard, took one big bounce, and landed on the other side of a ragged, wooden fence.
“My bad!” Chris laughed.
“Game’s over now,” Omar replied.
“Why’s that? I’ll just open the gate and get the ball,” Chris said, and began walking over toward the fence.
“You don’t want to do that,” Omar said anxiously. “That’s old man Sullivan’s yard. They say his house is haunted.”
“That’s nonsense,” Chris laughed, and he continued walking toward the fence. “I’ll be right back with the ball.”
Chris approached the fence and opened the creaky gate to the backyard.
Story Endings
The wind started howling, trees lost all their leaves, and a weird sound came from the yard. Without Chris opening the door, it automatically opened. Chris thought that what Omar said was NOT true. When he entered the yard, the door closed behind him. “Maybe he was right. Maybe it is haunted. When he saw the ball at a distance, he quickly grabbed it and started to run back but forgot the door closed behind him. “Great,”said Chris. Suddenly gasped. “Why didn’t I Think of this before. He climbed on the fence and jumped on the other side. When he returned, He said To him that it was not scary. Omar said”Yeah right. I saw the whole thing.
I guess Mr. Sulivan saw Chris because there was some noise and Omar freaked out. Chris’s scream faded away thinking that he was just pulling a prank on Omar. So, he peeked into the tiny holes of the fence, and the ball was there but Chris was not. Omar freaked out so we called his mom out and she thought it was a joke. Which means that Omar had to go in by himself. He told himself it would be alright and sneaked into the house of Mr. Sulivan. It turns out, Chris was fine, well, his mouth was not because it has too many cookies in it. Mr. Sulivan looks nice but Omar told Chris that he needs to go NOW. Chirs and Omar said bye and went back to Omar’s house. Thank god Chris is not dead!
THE END (- _ -)
A ghost came over silently. The 2 boys walked away from the house. But still the ghost followed them. THE END
chris saw an old man standing in there.he was creepy.can i have the ball?the man said sure.when he ran back ,omar had tricked him
All at once a vampire came flying out of the fence. Chris jumped, grabbed his ball and ran away. Omar had already run home and Chris went to Omar’s house They decided to never go back to old man Sullivan’s house.
“Don’t go there, you’re gonna regret it!” said Omar, with a scared voice.
But Chris ignored his friend and took a bit peek in the backyard, and he saw a little old man with their ball sitting on a chair.
“Excuse me, sir, can we please have that ball back”? Chris said.
The old man chuckled softly, and started to stare at Chris.
Finally, the old man said: What is your name, little fella?
“Chris” he said.
Then the old man gave the ball to Chris, and said: “Here you go.”
Chris took the ball and head back to his friend, but he forgot to say thank you, so he turned back immediately, and said: “excuse m-“, but as soon as he had turned to the old man, he had disappeared! Chris was really shocked, and he thought that Omar was maybe right. Then he headed back immediately to the playground, and continued playing with his friend, but also he felt weird about that disappearence.
THE END!!!!
Then suddenly the gate closed shut and it locked.
Lightning struck, thunder crashed, and cats meowed.
As he got the ball a voice willowed, “you children never understand do you? Once you enter there is NO EXIT!”
Chris was running everywhere around Old Man Sullivan’s yard, no matter where he ran Sullivan’s face was appearing.
Chris now knew there was no other way that he could survive, so he just sat down.
Sullivan now yelled, ‘I will eat you for breakfast. Chris screamed.
Suddenly Omar hopped on the fence and told Chris to grab his hand. Chris did so and got out.
Sullivan chased them all over the place until the police came and told Sullivan put your hands in the air.
They put handcuffs on him and put him in the police car. The chief came up to Chris and Omar and said, “thank you guys so much for your help’ and he gave us badges.
“What a CRAZY thing this was, but for know lets just stick to shooting some hoops.
then out came a friendly old man, no ghost, oh, hello young man is that your ball, yes, replied Chris , oh then you’d better go get it before you forget, and would you like to come in for cookies? asked the old man, it gets a bit lonely, sure , said Chris, can I bring my friend? yes, you may, answered the old man, AND THEY WERE THE BEST FRIENDS EVER!THE END…

He entered a bit scared. “Omar!” He called. “Will you come with me?” “No way Chris!” Omar answered. “You’re on your own.” Chris read a ton of scary stories and was not even a slight bit scared. This was going to be easy. He quickly ran and took the ball. “Ha ha! See? I got it.” Chris said to Omar. But suddenly, darkness fell over him. Omar’s chapter:
“Chris?” Omar called. It had been 45 minutes since he had taken his eyes of the house to get a snack. What if something happened to his best friend in a minute? Would it be his fault? “No way!” Omar said to himself. But he didn’t come. They sent search parties to look for him. One day, Omar went until darkness covered him up.
