COVID-19 Update #5

May 05, 2020

We hope this finds you and your loved ones well and safe. Here is an update on the TD Summer Reading Club and how it continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As you know, the TD Summer Reading Club will be moving to an online only program for the summer of 2020. While we are not able to grant staff early access to the Kids’ Site, we wanted to take this opportunity to show you the features that will be available to kids once it goes live on June 15, 2020. This PowerPoint presentation has screenshots from our 2019 Kids’ Site to highlight these activities. It also includes information about the new features we are adding this summer.

We need the names of all participating libraries so that kids can select their library when they register online. After entering their postal code or the name of their city, kids will choose their library from a dropdown list of participating libraries in their area. This enables us to provide registration information to all participating libraries. We will provide each library with three reports (in mid-July, in mid-August and after Labour Day) on the total number of kids who selected their library during registration. If we do not have your library’s information, you will not receive any registration data. Libraries that signed up earlier this year are automatically signed up for the online program and do not need to sign up again.

Finally, we would like to welcome all the new libraries who have recently signed up to join the TD Summer Reading Club. If you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time—please contact us.

We wish everyone (new and long-time participants) a safe and enjoyable summer reading!
